Around wine, what to do in Bordeaux?

Updated: Apr 9

Land of great wines, Bordeaux will not disappoint wine tourism lovers: museums, tastings, vineyard visits, there is no shortage of activities!

The museums:

Whether we want to discover the long history of wine in Bordeaux, the stages of making vines at bottling or the major wine regions of the world, we will find a lot of information to the Musée du Vin and to the Cité du vin.

The first more confidential is more focused on the history of the wine trade in Bordeaux. The second, very vast, addresses a multitude of aspects related to wine production around the world. To get to the Cité du vin., you can use the "boat bus"BatCub from one of the 3 stops in the city center (Stalingrad, Quinconces or Les Hangars) to enjoy a navigation on the Garonne and a magnificent view of the port of the moon. A TBM public transport network service that can be used with the same ticket as the bus or tram!

Tasting workshops:

Those who prefer to discover a region, a grape variety, a wine style or a dish around good glasses of wine will find their happiness in les ateliers de dégustation de la Cité du vin or l'école du vin.

With several workshops every day, varied themes and a very good value for money, the workshops of the Cité du vin are an excellent alternative or complement to visiting the museum and will satisfy both experienced tasters and neophytes.

Visits to vineyards:

A very wide variety of vineyards can be visited in or around Bordeaux, this diversity makes it possible to adapt to the constraints of time, locomotion or the desires of everyone. For those who have little time and want to find a service according to a given slot, the site Winetourbooking is a very useful tool to find a visit and book it.

Perfect for visitors who have little time and have no car, the prestigious Château Pape Clément can be reached in less than an hour by bus or tram from the center of Bordeaux. Innovation and refinement characterize this classified grand cru of Pessac Leognan.

At the gates of the Médoc, a recognized bourgeois cru, the Château d'Arsac is also a place open to artistic creation. Every year since 1992, the estate acquires a work signed by a major contemporary artist. Today it brings together an impressive collection!

Very closed to the historic center of Saint Emilion, Château Villemaurine can be visited very easily during a visit to the old city. The visit, which includes a passage through its underground quarries, will provide a very appreciable cool stop during the hot summer days!
